Cybersecurity & Networking Concentrations

Program Summary

The Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems at Pace University offers a top-ranked online Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) that is carefully crafted to provide you with the real-world blend of knowledge, skills, and problem-solving aptitude that today’s employers seek. As a NACTEL student, you can attend with a greatly discounted tuition rate.

Students can choose between two different concentrations; Cybersecurity or Networking. Most Pace master’s IT students are part-timers and can complete the coursework in two years, taking three to six credit hours per semester. Classes can be taken in real-time or asynchronously via our Learning Management System.

This degree program builds on the B.S. degree in Telecommunications provided through the NACTEL program at Pace University.

Cybersecurity Concentration

Specialized instruction in cybersecurity, combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical experience in exciting lab environments that incorporate the latest technology, tools and techniques.

Designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE), the Seidenberg School is a national leader in cybersecurity education, and our graduates enjoy exciting careers at agencies including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and the New York City Police Department.

Networking Concentration

In the Networking track, students will focus on obtaining an in-depth understanding of the foundational principles, algorithms, and protocols in networked systems. This track will help students develop leading-edge knowledge of networking technologies.

Networking technologies play a central role in shaping the future of telecommunication, information technology, and the Internet. This track will help you develop leading-edge knowledge of these technologies. In addition, Pace is designated as a Cisco Networking Academy and its NACTEL curriculum is guided by its industry partners including AT&T, Century Link, Frontier, Verizon, CWA and IBEW.

The online MS in Information Technology provides students with the opportunity to customize their education to meet their specific needs and career goals. Academic advisors work closely with students to create a personalized academic plan. A broad array of electives enables students to bridge knowledge gaps, acquire specialized knowledge, gain broader exposure to the IT ecosystem, or get a leg up on emerging industry trends.

The program culminates with a Capstone Project, giving students the opportunity to delve into an area of interest with the enthusiastic support of one of our distinguished faculty members; Charles Tappert, PhD, professor of computer science, Fulbright scholar, and consultant to leading companies, teaches the Capstone Project course, which many students report is a highlight of their Seidenberg School education.
