AS Degree

The A.S. Degree in Applied Information Technology, Video Technologies track prepares students for many technical positions in the telecommunications industry. This technical degree prepares students to install, maintain, and manage the telecom industry’s emerging technologies and “triple play” product offerings.

The degree program builds on the knowledge gained in the Introduction to Broadband Certificate, followed by the Certificate in Video Technology Essentials, and is transferable into Pace University's Accelerated B.S. degree program (2-year completion) as well as traditional 4-year degree programs.

Who should apply?
This program is open to people interested in learning the design, operations, and maintenance of these leading edge technologies, and who:

Have a high school diploma
Cannot attend a traditional college program
Want to prepare for technical jobs in the industry
Want to expand their knowledge of the technical aspects of the industry

What will I learn?
The A.S. degree, Video Technologies* track provides a background in smart home technology, television principles, voice over IP telephony, and wired and wireless computer networking. At the completion of the A.S. degree program, students will have:

the ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems as well as document and communicate technical information;
enhanced computer hardware and software knowledge and skills;
the ability to perform tasks associated with all forms of digital television;
hands-on experience with telecommunications technology.

What degree will I earn?
At the successful completion of this 64-credit program, graduates will receive the Associate of Science in Applied Information Technology, Video Technologies from Pace University. For a listing of the courses required and a breakdown of credits, review the degree details.

Assuming most students are also working full-time, the program can take about 2.5 years to complete.
